2025 Grenache, McLaren Vale, South Australia
Bush-vine Grenache from ancient soil formations. Handpicked, whole bunch, wild fermented goodness.
Our Thomas Block vineyard is extremely unique, and experiences colder than average McLaren Vale mornings, and warm summer days, providing the perfect ripening conditions for producing the most elegant of red wines; this Grenache is no exception.

Organic | Biodynamic
Vintage 2025 was one for the record book: warm, dry, and fast-moving. It was the driest growing season McLaren Vale has seen since 2003, with around 120-200 mm less rainfall than the previous two vintages. A warm and early spring encouraged even bud burst and flowering, while a stable summer delivered ideal ripening conditions without any extreme heat spikes. With little disease pressure fruit quality was exceptionally clean. The dry conditions led to one of the most compressed vintages in recent memory, with nearly all vineyards picked within a six-week window between early February and mid-March. Overall, the 2025 season produced expressive, balanced wines with plenty of brightness and structure—reflecting both the heat of the season and the resilience of our organically and biodynamically farmed vines.
Mulberry silk
Spicy, lifted, brambly, medicinal in a good way, like an old all-purpose tonic that becomes a fashionable drink. A hybrid Campari, cherry cola, bitters, gentian kind of thing.
Thorny wild raspberries, with tart fruit and aromatic leaves, cherry and sour redcurrant, cranberry sauce. Tannins are complex, structured by bunch and skin, the interplay of savoury and fruit sweetness deftly handled
GOOD: Summer 2026-27 BETTER: Winter 2028 KEEP: Until 2040
Spicy Asian or Indian dishes
Landcross Farm Grenache is hand-picked from bush vines high up on a ridge overlooking the Willunga basin, the grapes are delicately tipped into open fermenters using alternating layers of whole bunches and whole berries. A slow and measured extraction balances the delicate fruit flavours without too much tannin, after pressing the wine is aged in a French oak cask (foudre) and used French oak puncheons for eight months before bottling.
