What's On at Paxton Wines

Charcoal & Light brings together two distinct artistic voices united by a shared fascination with the human form.

Emerging McLaren Vale artist Kaitlyn Mowat works in charcoal, drawing the viewer into intimate, highly realistic portraits that celebrate the quiet power of the human face. Her work is patient and precise! Kaitlyn is also a valued bar staff member right here at Paxton Wines, and we’re so excited to have her exhibit her brilliant work here!

Adelaide photographer and creative Grier Neilson – founder of Bohemian Ekko Creative – brings over 30 years of experience across beauty, editorial and film to her lens. Known for revealing in people what they cannot yet see in themselves, her work is intuitive, warm and quietly transformative. Feathered, presented as part of Charcoal & Light, explores the female form within the Australian landscape extended through layered, hand-embellished photographic works.

Together, their work invites us to slow down and really look at one another. Charcoal & Light is showing at Paxton Wines, McLaren Vale, as part of the 2026 SALA festival. Exhibition in Paxton Cellar Door daily from 10am – 5pm throughout August 2026.

Join us for the opening night and meet the artists. Friday 31st July 5 – 7pm. RSVP to janet@paxtonwines.com
