Our NOW by PAXTON or Natural Organic Wine features No Added Preservatives to our Organic and Biodynamic grapes in a drink NOW style which boasts fresh, bursting fruit flavours, made naturally.
This range of single vineyard wines is a marvellous showcase of regional terroir and soil diversity. These site-specific premium wines capture the pure essence of the fruit that comes from the prized Paxton benchmark blocks; wines of true elegance and sophistication.
An alluring and attractive bunch of wines, showcasing the charm and appeal that comes with being distinctly McLaren Vale. These wines display the region’s natural diversity and varietal expression sourced from several of Paxton’s estate vineyards. They are conspicuously fruit-driven in style, generous in their over-delivery of quality to price, and incredibly delicious to drink.
The climate diversity of McLaren Vale has helped producers successfully embrace Mediterranean varieties in this remarkable wine growing region and has sparked a second coming in new varietal plantings. Paxton, as a leader in viticultural innovation has embraced and refined this revitalising concept for over a decade, being one of the first to plant Tempranillo in the region in 2000.
This Saturday and Sunday the warm Pavilion Pop-Up at Paxton will be humming again with good friends, mulled wine, live music, and delicious pizza and gourmet doughballs by the wood-fired food experts, DoughBalls.
And there’s live music on Sunday by popular soloist Steve Gower from 12-3pm.

The talented and charming Owen Giovine has had quite the journey at Paxton Wines… and with a name like GioVINE there was never any doubt where his career was headed!
It started at Paxton Cellar Door way back in 2016, with Owen working weekends while studying Viticulture and Oenology. For his 4th year placement he worked the 2018 vintage at the winery, and he must have done something right because he was invited back for vintage the following year. After graduating he joined the Paxton team as a full-time cellar hand, and in 2021 was made Assistant Winemaker.
Owen is a dedicated food and wine enthusiast, and his favourite pairing is the 2021 Paxton Grenache with roasted mushrooms and thyme on buttery polenta. Yum! Hopefully he cooks better than he tends to barrels…#paxtonwines #gosouthgolocal #winebarrel #southaustralia #mclarenvale #iChooseSA #Adelaide...

Did you know sheep have to spend 3 weeks in quarantine before they enter our vineyards? Thats' because in order for us to remain 100% biodynamic respectful (and certified!) we need the sheep to cleanse themselves before joining us in our pastures.
Sheep reduce the need for tractors while their manure adds nitrogen, carbon and good bacteria back into our soils.
And while there is no fruit on the vines their insatiable appetites keep down the weeds in our vineyard.
You asked we listened: we'll now host Live Music every Sunday for the entire winter!
Relax inside the Wheaton Pavilion as you watch the winter storms roll through the valley. With mulled wine, good friends, live music and delicious Doughballs Pizza you'll be snug as a bug!

"The future is from the past. The whole world was organic before 1847, as farming chemicals were introduced then. We take a lot of pride in being part of the solution, and we are very sincere about our organic, biodynamic ways." - David Paxton.

Drying herbs in our [somehat spooky] historic cottage 👻
Here at Landcross Farm, we have a little herb garden where we grow the ingredients for our biodynamic potions and preps. Laid out to dry is our homegrown Stinging Nettle:
▶️Stinging nettle has been used for centuries in natural medicines for their incredible healing qualities.
▶️The preparation's main job is to correct the soil's iron, magnesium, and sulphur imbalance.
▶️BD504 preparation (dark colloidal humus made from dried stinging nettle) loosens the soil texture allowing the nutrients to release, disperse and be absorbed by plants.
Natural preps for the win 🙌
We need LOTS of space to store our garden preps and, our onsite historic cottage, while not quite fit to live in is the perfect fit for drying our plants 🙂
Many of you might know us for our roaring events, live music and delicious @doughballsau, but the best part indeed has to be a winter wine tasting in our warm and welcoming cellar door 🔥
[Mandy is serving up a Premium Red Flights, which features our *ultra-limited release* Elizabeth Jean Shiraz 😍]
Tell us, do you get into Paxton’s robust reds or quaff our whites and roses?
Mandy worked as a cabin crew host in her past life, where she met all sorts of people, from grannies to celebs like Prince William and Nelson Mandela.
We're secretly glad she abandoned her high flier lifestyle because we don't know how we did it before Mandy came along! She's been with us for 7 years now, and her amiable nature and organisational skills are simply aspirational 🙌
Mandy's go-to wine: 2021 Paxton Graciano
Favourite part of the job: Chatting to guests about their travels
Mandy's Passion: Crafting projects @makingtimeatmyplace
Be sure to stop in for a wine and a chat with Mandy next time you're in the Vale!

Preparation 500 – Biodynamic preparation where fresh cow manure is placed into a cow’s horn (a calcium-rich vessel), and then buried over the winter. The manure is transformed into a highly concentrated form of compost.
Diversity – natural environments have a way of protecting themselves: it’s called biological diversity. In our vineyards we encourage natural systems to regulate pests and disease. We cultivate microbes in the soil, plant mid-row pastures and native trees, and keep beehives to create habitats for different species and maintain the diversity.
Compost – made off-site to our own recipe, we apply compost in winter to provide organic carbon, nutrient, and – most importantly – the microbes that promote soil health. The soil’s structure is also improved as its ability to hold water.
Soil Health – healthy soil is the foundation of biodynamic farming, that’s why we reject the use of synthetic fertilisers and pesticides that damage the soil’s biology.
